Don G. Osbourn, "Oz", 62, died August 31, 2015, at his home.

He was born in 1953 in Sedalia to Onavee Downing Osbourn and Ellis D. Osbourn.

He attended Horace Mann and Heber Hunt elementary schools and graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1971.

He is survived by his wife and companion of many years, Julia Gills Osbourn; his father; a sister, Donna Osbourn; an aunt, Jerry Anderson and her husband Sammy;  two nieces, Katy McNelly, and her children, Emalea and Luke, and Sarah Stubblefield and her husband David; two nephews, Jake Rumsey and his wife Lacey, and Jon Burkey.

He worked at various jobs in Sedalia, including a few years on the lake route for the Kansas City Star, maintenance man and groundskeeper at Thompson Hill Shopping Center and finally his favorite job, lube tech at Bryant Motors.

He had few interests. The only thing that stayed with him throughout his life was his devotion to his cats. He left behind Jewell, Opal, Teetum, and Pity-pat; all of them "his babies." He liked to hunt deer, but found it harder and harder to shoot them. Same for the rabbits he liked to trap.

Burial will be at a later date in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Green Ridge.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
