Donald Drew Castiglia, 62, of Nelson, MO passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 at The Living Center, Marshall, MO.  He was born in Sedalia, MO on January 13, 1953, a son of Jack and Ruth (Growner) Castiglia, who preceded him in death.

On December 23, 1972 in Florence, MO he was united in marriage to Julia Maye Castiglia, who survives of the home.

He worked for 23 years at Maxion Wheels, before he retired due to his health in June of 2014. He worked in many different areas at Maxion, with his most recent job as a changeover machine operator.  Donald enjoyed being outdoors gardening, landscaping and fishing.  When his grandson was young, he especially loved taking him skiing on the Lamine River.  He was passionate about his small farm where he and his wife have cattle, goats, chickens and peafowl.  Donald also was an antique car and truck enthusiast.  Around town, he was known for his balloon art.  You would find him making balloon hats and animals at picnics, restaurants, companies and just for fun everywhere he went.  He would say about his balloons, “Like MasterCard, I don’t leave home without them!”  He had a passion for people and enjoyed taking communion over to retirement homes for the residence.

He is survived by a daughter, Petrina Tuckwiller of Marshall, MO; two sisters, Terri Koch of La Monte, MO and Laura Hepler of Groton, CT; three brothers, Dennis Castiglia of Garden City, MO, Robert Castiglia of Farmington, MO and Larry Castiglia of Sedalia; and one grandson, Gary Allen Johnson.

A Celebration of Life and Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
