Donald Charles Thomas, 70

Donald Charles Thomas, 70, of Edwards, MO passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home.  He was born on July 22, 1945 at Kansas City, Kansas the son of Lloyd H. Thomas and Mary K. Rawlins, who preceded in death.

On August 31, 1997 he was united in marriage to Sharon K. Fletcher, who preceded him in death on February 24, 2015.

Don enjoyed, fishing, mowing his lawn, gardening, and eating home grown tomatoes. He loved going to the casino riverboats and being outdoors where he was always tinkering on something. Don served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He survived by three children, David and Bryan Thomas, both of Kansas City, MO and Tracy Jackson and her fiance Wayne LaFavor of Edwards, MO; two stepchildren, David Thayer (Tracy) of Shawnee, KS, and Michael Thayer (Dena) of Cape Coral, FL; six grandchildren, Samuel Corwin, Stacy Wilson, Stephanie Wilson, Christopher Thomas, Brandon Jackson and Mikie Jackson; five great grandchildren, Logan Wilson, Kylee Corwin, Lillian Swank, Kynlee Corwin, newest member of the family Christopher Kayden; a brother and a sister.

Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother.

A celebration of life gathering of friends and family for Don and Sharon will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday September 5, 2105 at the family home on Axis Road in Edwards, Missouri.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
