Donald Wayne Harris, 61

Donald Wayne Harris, 61, of La Monte, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Harry S. Truman VA Medical Center in Columbia, MO. He was born on September 9, 1952 in Carrollton, MO, a son of John and Geraldine (Belcher) Harris.

Donald owned and operated a local business, Trinity Automation, where he worked as a machinist. He served his country honorably as a United States Marine through the Vietnam War.

He is survived by one daughter, Kelly Harris of La Monte; one son, Donald Wayne Harris II of La Monte; one sister, Jodi Grindstaff (Terry) of Georgia; two brothers, Edwin Harris (Mary) of Lathrop, MO; and Eugene Harris of St. Louis, MO; and three grandchildren, Madison Harris, Maya Martin, and Trinity Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Ronald Belcher, Richard Belcher, Charles Harris, and Michael Harris.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the La Monte Christian Church in La Monte, MO.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the family.
