Dr. James Wilson Bryden, D.C., 90, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015, at his home at Winchester Meadows.

He was born July 3, 1925, in Beloit, WI, son of Ross Farrington and Beulah Elizabeth Troxel Bryden.

On March 26, 1949, in Beloit, WI, he was united in marriage to Carol Jean Stafford, who preceded him in death on May 25, 2012.

He was a Chiropractor and owned Bryden Valley Chiropractic Center for over 60 years. He was an innovative leader in the Chiropractic profession who created opportunities for future generations of doctors. He was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, Pachyderm Club, Show-Me Model A Club and 40 & 8 Voiture 333. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II, as a military policeman in Tokyo.

Surviving are a son, Forrest Bryden, and his wife, Debbie, of Sedalia; two daughters, Linda Bryden, of Boonville, and Rhonda Bryden Cook, of Joliet, IL; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Bill.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Thaddeus Weikal, Daren Belardo and Eddie Vigil officiating.

Casket bearers will be Brian Amos, Charles Amos, Todd Weikal, Culley Powers, Justin Thompson, and Matt Goalder.

Honorary bearers will be Kenny Janney, Daren Belardo, Duane Aimers, Trudy Quibell, Jeff Quibell, David Quibell, April Quibell, Leonard Anderson and Robert Capeharg.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to a scholarship fund in Dr. Bryden's name at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas, in care of the funeral home.
