Emma Lee M. “Emily” Klein, 84, of Sedalia, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Fair View Nursing Home.

She was born August 20, 1929, in Bahner, a daughter of the late John L. and Katherine (Meyer) Klein.

Emily grew up on the family farm in Bahner and attended St. John Catholic grade school. She and her sister, Isabelle, moved to Beverly Hills, CA, where she worked as a cashier at the Thrifty Drug Store and was a member of the Local 770, Hollywood, CA. After retiring in 1991, they returned to Missouri and made their home in Sedalia. She enjoyed spending time with her sister and friends at Delmonico’s in California and an occasional trip to Venice beach. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

She is survived by a brother-in-law, Bill Stuhner, of Cole Camp; a sister-in-law, Edna Klein, of Sedalia; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Amos Klein; and five sisters, Isabelle Klein, Helen Kistler, Genevieve Fawley, Della Kanenbley, Mary “Henry” Stuhner and Pearl Stuhner.

Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 2 pm, Sunday, February 9, 2014, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with visitation to follow until 4 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Monday, February 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mark Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Bottcher, Ray Havnen, Tim Ackmann, David Bahner and Mark Klein. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Bahner, Bill Stuhner and Edna Klein. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
