Honeybees are an integral part of both local and global food systems. Many individuals in our area are interested in keeping a few hives in their back yard, but don't know where to start.If you would like to learn more about honey bees and possibly start keeping bees yourself, the Henry County Extension Center is offering an all day beginning beekeeping workshop on Saturday, December 7. The workshop will be taught by Jim and Valerie Duever of Bachelor, MO. The workshop will be held at the Henry County Extension Center at 100 West Franklin in Clinton and will begin at 9:00 a.m. Call Verlinda Talley or Travis Harper at 660-885-5556 for registration details.
