Fair in Full Swing in Knob Noster [PHOTOS]
Tke Knob Noster Fair goes through June 9, and each day is full of activities. Last night, (June 7), the Knob Noster Fair really got into full swing with the Grand Parade that stretched down the main drag, with more floats, classic cars, motorcycles and political candidates than in recent years.
Spectator Rich Lange said, "What a great turnout we have! There were a lot of great looking floats." As each entry went by, standing kids swarmed for the candy and souvenirs that were thrown. The parade lasted for a little over an hour.
Other activities included the Lions Club's spaghetti dinner at the Jubilation Center. This is one of my fondest memories of growing up in Knob Noster, as I can remember, some of the more successful fundraisers involved spaghetti.
Lions Club member Jerry Atkins said, "We enjoy putting these together and giving back to the community." He also added that they meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at the Jubilation Center in Knob for those that are interested in the organization. May I add, the chocolate pecan pie and cookies were awesome!
After eating and watching the parade, it was time to hit the midway and see the various vendors. It seemed to me there were more vendors than in previous years, and the rides seemed fun. My kids went on three riding their favorite, the Super Slide. However, the older kids really enjoyed the "Ali Baba."
A nice addition was the free section provided by Jordan Academy behind First Community bank, where little kids could play in water, dirt, play with cones and even jump in a bounce house. The owner of Jordan Academy, Jessica Pittford said, "The kids are really enjoying it. We enjoy the Knob Fair each year and the community really goes out and supports it each year."
