Floyd L. Esser, 94, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born August 2, 1921, in Sedalia, son of Henry H. and Rosa Ellen Franklin Esser. On May 21, 1940, in Warsaw, he married Ruth Louise Burlingame.

Mr. Esser worked for All Points North American Van Lines for 27 years. He was a member of the Salvation Army. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Fay Ann Wooley, of Simpsonville, SC, Margaret Sisk, of Sedalia, and Ruth Nieman, of Sedalia; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Floyd Esser Jr.; two brothers, Ernest and Elmer Esser; and three sisters, Pearl Barnett, Flora Schrader and Martha Graybill.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, at Highland Sacred Gardens, with Major Mark Haslett officiating.

Casket bearers will be Jackie Burlingame, Floyd Esser III, Jerry Nieman Jr., Greg Nieman, Troy Esser and Ernest Esser.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army.
