Frances June (Crowder) Brownfield, 85, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. She was born on January 13, 1930 in Clinton, MO, a daughter of Jesse and Nelle (Buchanan) Cummings, who preceded her in death.

On April 30, 1950 in Clinton, MO, she was united in marriage to Doyle Crowder, who preceded her in death. Then on November 10, 1972 in Miami, OK, she was united in marriage to Arnold Brownfield, who also preceded her in death.

June was a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, MO. She loved Big Band music, playing cards, and eating out with her friends. June was an avid reader and she loved to garden. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sedalia.

She is survived by two children of her first marriage, Barbara Byers (Henry) of Sunrise Beach, MO, and Keith Crowder of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. June is also survived by her sister-in-law Carol Cummings Bassett of Lake Ozark and her dear friend Sue Wagner of Jefferson City.

Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son of her first marriage, Michael Crowder; four brothers, Bob Cummings, Jess Cummings, Rex Cummings, and Jack Cummings; and one sister, Betty Yessen.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Sedalia, with Rev. Rick Adams officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Interment of ashes will be at Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, MO, at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Liberty Park Stadium Fund in care of Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
