Where has the past year gone? We're just weeks away from Christmas, and soon we'll be counting down the seconds to an all new year.

New Year's Eve is known for parties and last-minute indulgences before those pesky resolutions kick in. WalletHub has published quite a bit of information about the New Year's holiday, including the Best Places for New Year's Eve Celebrations, and New Year's Eve Fun Facts.

A few of those New Year's Eve fun facts:

Over 360 million glasses of sparkling wine will be consumed on New Year's Eve.

The Times Square Ball weighs almost 12,000 pounds! It's covered with 2,688 Waterford Crystal triangles.

20% of all charitable donations are made in the final 48 hours of the year.

Almost half of parents give up on New Year's Eve before midnight.  48% plan to count down the last 10 seconds of 2016 with their kids by 9 p.m. 30% of Americans go to bed before midnight. Kind of lazy, but also kind of understandable.

175 million people will watch the ball drop on TV.

By the way, if you're going to celebrate New Year's in the state of Missouri, WalletHub recommends St. Louis, which ranked in the Top 10 for best places in the nation for New Year's Eve celebrations. Kansas City came in at No. 54 on the list of 100 cities.
