G.W. “Dub” Meyer, 87, of Mora, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013 at Katy Manor, Pilot Grove. He was born March 19, 1926 in Gladstone, Missouri, a son of Harry and Fannie (Stevens) Meyer.

On December 25, 1944, in Smithton, he was united in marriage to Darlene Ulmer, who preceded him in death on November 14, 2002.

Dub farmed all of his life. He was also very involved in his community. He was a member of Lake Creek Church, Smithton. Dub also served on various committees including FSA of Pettis County and the Smithton School Board. He enjoyed visiting and had a world of friends. He also loved time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by one son, Jerry Meyer and his fiancé Susan Lemler of Sedalia; two daughters, Linda Monsees and her husband Dale of Smithton, Colleen Deuschle and her husband Stanley of Pilot Grove; three sisters-in-law, Louise Meyer of Phoenix, Arizona, Harriet Meyer of Hughesville, Karen Wagor of Kansas; five grandchildren, Shelly Meyer, Steven Deuschle, Tracy Monsees, Lisa Pyle, Brandon Meyer; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Meyer and Doyle Meyer.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastors Gary Richardson and Jason Veale officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park, Sedalia.

Pallbearers will be Steve Deuschle, Tracy Monsees, Brandon Meyer, Allen Meyer, Chris Pyle, and Trevor Monsees.

Honorary bearers will be John and Barbara Knaus, Emmett and Alice Fairfax, Lois Hoehns, Les Zimmerschied, Geneva Hampy, Carl Wiseman, and Mark Hoehns.

The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 7:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Lake Creek Church or Katy Manor Nursing Home, Pilot Grove.
