A Gladstone man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday morning in Lafayette County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2008 Chevy Silverado, driven by 27-year-old Michael A. Davis of Gladstone, was on I-70 at mile marker 35.4 around 4:30 a.m., when the truck traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected and the truck went off the left side, overturned and ejected the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Schmoeger at 4:59 a.m. The body was taken to Stewart Hoeffer Funeral Home in Higginsville.

The Silverado was totaled and towed from the scene by Jackson County Tow.

Odessa Police and Lafayette County Deputies assisted the four Troopers on scene.
