Helen Pauline Kreisel, age 95, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Columbia, MO. She was born August 24, 1919, near White City, Kansas to Ferdinand W. and Elsbeth Krause Strelow. She graduated from Smithton High School in 1937. On November 30, 1939, Helen married Ralph H. Kreisel, and they have resided in Sedalia since their marriage. Helen and Ralph celebrated their 75 years of marriage with family and friends in 2014.

Helen and Ralph have four children: Bill Kreisel, Blue Springs; Ralph Kreisel, Jr., Sedalia; Sandra Fleak, Kirksville; and Deann Crockett, Branson West.

Helen was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as extended family. Helen was a faithful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. She was earlier a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for many years. She was active in her church and club organizations. Helen loved to sew and was an extraordinary gardener. She gladly shared many flowers and plants with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband and children as well as nine grandchildren: William Kreisel Jr. and April Conner, Tuscan, AZ; Elizabeth Kreisel, Independence; Halena Smith, Kelly Miller, and Katie Sisemore, Sedalia; Lewis Fleak, St. Peters; Maranda Hazard, Las Vegas, NV; Abigail Crockett, Monett. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Edna Strelow of Sedalia; brother-in-law James Kreisel, of Yakima, WA; and nephews Delbert Strelow, Larry Strelow, and Jim Strelow of Wichita.

Preceding her in death are her parents and two brothers, William A. Strelow and Herbert F. Strelow.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastors Chris Kellogg and Andrew Tessone officiating.

Casket bearers will be Jim Strelow, Delbert Strelow, Mike Strelow, Fred Pfeiffer, Joey Klein and Lewis Fleak.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Heckart Funeral Home.
