Jean Antoinette Ransdell, 79, of Otterville, died Monday, August 03, 2015, at her home.

She was born September 5, 1935, in Syracuse, daughter of Andrew and Bernice Musslin.

Jean was baptized at St. Andrews Church, in Tipton, on September 13, 1935.

On April 26, 1952, in McCloud, California, she married Mervin Ransdell, who preceded her in death on March 28, 2005.

She attended Olive Branch School in Syracuse. In her youth she sang professionally with her sister, Gerturde, as the “Musslin Sisters” on KCMO, at the Hotel Muehlebach in Kansas City, and other venues as well as appearing on the Ted Mack Show. She dedicated her life to her faith, family, and friends. Jean was known for her cooking, especially homemade pies, rolls and family feasts. She was a true country girl who loved gardening and preferred lawnmowers to jewelry, but wore the finest with the best of them. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church, Clifton City and a member of the Altar Sodality.

Surviving are a son, Jeff Ransdell (Vaunda); two daughters, Rebecca Ransdell and Bonnie Diefendorf (Larry); four sisters, Martha Schmidt and Gertrude Hunt, of Sedalia, and Dorothy Musslin and Barbara McCown, of Syracuse; two brothers, Dwain and Paul Musslin, of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Brennan Ransdell, Ryan Mullins, Jeff Ransdell, Jr., Veronica Ransdell, Nathan Diefendorf, and Jeanenne Tornatore; ten great-grandchildren, Jarett Ransdell, Amelia and Abigail Diefendorf, Isabella, Everett and Emerson Tornatore, Gage, Ellie, Gunnar, and Akir Mullins.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and David Musslin; and a granddaughter, Meredith Diefendorf.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 7, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clifton City, with Father Phil Kane officiating.

Prayers of the Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church, followed by visitation until 9:00 p.m.

Burial will be held at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
