Jo Ann Evelyn Anders, 83, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014, at Fair View Nursing Home.

She was born February 20, 1931, in Boonville, daughter of James Marshall and LaVesta Violet Wilson Summerskill. On November 20, 1965, in Reno, NV, she married J.E. Anders, who died in 1980.

For many years, Jo Ann owned and operated the Anderly Home for the Elderly. She also did in-home care and had worked at the Old Missouri Homestead. She enjoyed genealogy, reading and redecorating houses.

Surviving are seven children: Cherie Howard (Larry), of Sedalia, Gerald M. Quinn (Linda), of Arkansas, Marlene Fredericks, of Springfield, Carolyn Howard, of Batesville, AR, Kathleen Crossno, of Harrison, AR, Rex Crossno, of Sedalia, and Robin Frecka, of Morristown, TN; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene Patch, of Sedalia.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Frecka; an infant son, Edward; and a brother, Rex Wade King.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page, Funeral Celebrant, officiating.

Casket bearers will be Gerald Quinn, Rex Crossno, Cody Hayworth, Trey Taber, Kyler Taber and Chase Hayworth. Honorary bearers will be Larry Howard and David Bennett.

Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Heckart Funeral Home.
