Kaiser Man Killed in Miller County Crash

A Kaiser man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday night in Miller County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 1999 Oldsmobile 88 was on Blue Spring Drive, 1626 feet north of Wedgewood Road around 10:15 p.m., when the vehicle crossed the center of the roadway, then traveled off the left side and struck a utility pole. The Olds came to rest in a field.

The driver, 61-year-old Jeffrey D. Ballew of Kaiser, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:08 p.m., by Miller County Sheriff Louie Gregoire. Kaiser was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The body was taken to Phillips Funeral Home.

The Olds was totaled and Woods Towing.

Miller County Deputies assisted the Patrol.

This was Troop F's second fatality for December and the 46th for the year.
