Kiwanis Club of Sedalia Launches Avenue of Flags for 2024

Kiwanis volunteers will place the United States flag in front of homes or businesses on patriotic holidays.

For 2024, the holidays include Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, 9-11, and Veteran’s Day. The five-foot-long American-made flags are anchored to a 10-foot pole.

The Kiwanis Club of Sedalia volunteers will deliver, install, and store the flags. Each flag is installed into a pre-set sleeve in the ground between the curb and the sidewalk, usually about 2’ inside the curb at a visible location.

The receptacle sleeve is ground level so as not to impede walking or lawn care. All proceeds from The Avenue of Flags stay in our community to support area youth programs.

The cost for five holidays in 2024 is $55 for a single flag. Orders of 3 flags at one address location are $150. Orders of 10 flags are $450. The flag service will be billed on an annual basis. Orders must be paid before installation. Please return your request as soon as possible to allow enough time to set the anchors.
