Lila Mae (McKenzie) Miller, 93, of Sedalia, died Monday, May 25, 2015, at Fair View Nursing Home.

She was born February 8, 1922, in Smithton, daughter of Milton Sidney and Elsie Fay (Miller) McKenzie. Lila attended the Salem Elementary School and graduated from Smithton High School in 1940.

Lila was employed from 1940 to 1945 at the Sedalia Army Air Field. She then went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she remained until her retirement in 1979.

On April 8, 1946, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, she married Joseph L. Miller, of Columbus, Ohio. Joe preceded her in death on May 31, 1967. In addition to her husband, Lila was preceded in death by one brother, Forrest M. McKenzie, of Smithton; and two sisters, Ruth (McKenzie) Mittelhauser and Dorothy McKenzie, both of Sedalia.

Lila is survived by one sister, Helen Naomi Wells, of La Monte. Lila leaves behind nine nephews and nieces: Gene McKenzie (Charlotte), of College Station, TX, Bob McKenzie, of Kansas City, MO, Carl Mittelhauser (Crystal), of Sedalia, MO, Mary Ruth Combs (Ray), of Sedalia, MO, Donna Ray, of Ballwin, MO, David Wells (Janet), of Seymour, MO, Linda DeHoet of Pompano Beach, FL, Don Wells (Katy), of North Lauderdale, FL, and Anita Pinzon (Al), of Davie, FL; several great nieces and nephews; many other family members; and a host of friends.

Lila will be dearly missed by all.

She was a longtime member of Parkview Christian Church. She was also a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club, Jolly Elders and Be Forever Young.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Seth Tyler and Elder Max Fields officiating.

Casket bearers will be nephews. Honorary bearers will be nieces.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Parkview Christian Church.
