Lucinda Maxine “Lu” Albers, 84, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born March 9, 1930, in Saline County, a daughter of the late Martin and Lydia (Viets) Schelp. On October 18, 1953, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, she united in marriage to Earl Richard Albers, by Rev. Strickert. Earl preceded her in death on April 13, 2004.

Lucinda was a 1949 graduate of Houstonia High School. She worked as a waitress for 40 years at Bothwell Hotel, Pucketts’s and the Coffee Pot Café and 15 years at the Casey’s at 16th & Grand in Sedalia. She was a faithful member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was active in many church activities, and especially enjoyed helping with funeral dinners. She also enjoyed playing cards.

She is survived by a daughter, Cinthia Titus, of Summit, AR; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florentine Grother; and a brother, Duane Schelp.

Funeral service will be 10 am, Monday, August 11, 2014, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Chris Kellogg and Rev. Andrew Tessone officiating. Pallbearers will be elders of the church. Graveside service will be 2 pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.

Friends may call after noon on Sunday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, where visitation will take place from 3 pm – 4:30 pm.
