One Marshall resident was killed and another seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident that occurred in Carroll County Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2008 Chevy Equinox, driven by 90-year-old Mildred M. Scott of Marshall, was on US 65, south of County Road 350 (north of Waverly) around 11:45 a.m., when when the Equinox passed a northbound 2017 Peterbilt 375, driven by 69-year-old Debra Snellen of Jefferson City, and struck a southbound 2007 Kenworth W900, driven by 51-year-old Mark Scholle of Tina, Mo, head-on.

The Equinox then struck the Peterbilt.

Scott was flown to University Hospital in Columbia by Life Flight, and later pronounced dead at 1:14 by Dr. J. Coughenour.

The passenger in the Equinox, 83-year-old Willie Armstrong, also of Marshall, suffered serious injuries, and was flown by Life Flight to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City.

The Peterbilt had minor damage, while the Kenworth had extensive damage and the Equinox was totaled.

Carroll County Deputies assisted the six Troopers on scene.
