Mid-Missouri Outlaws Ready for Season Opener This Sunday
The Mid-Missouri Outlaws are ready for the 2013 season to begin. The off-season has been full of changes as the Outlaws joined the new Champions Professional Indoor Football League after being in the American Professional Football League since their inception indoors in 2010. Last year's Head Coach Ben Lyles is now the General Manager, last year's defensive coordinator Jason Pallo has become the Head Coach, and there are some new assistant coaches, Caleb and Skip Crooker. Even the cheerleaders had a change as Kim Lockard stepped up from being choreographer last year to being the Bootlegger Coach.
One thing that hasn't changed is the Mid-Missouri Outlaws are excited to be playing at the Mathewson Exhibition Center. They will have some familiar faces back on the field, including quarterback Kyle Middleton, running back Marcus James, offensive linemen Tony Vaka, Micah and Seth Brimer and defensive back Jajwan Shields.
The wide receiver core is where you'll see the most change with Brandon Williams from Graceland University, Jamie Carpenter from Avila University, Ronnie Celestine from Langston University and Josh Reid from Missouri Valley College.
The Outlaws will take on a totally new team, the Lincoln Haymakers, this Sunday at 3:05 p.m. The Haymakers did have the luxury of a pre-season game, resulting in a loss to the Nebraska Danger of the Indoor Footbal League by a score of 56-21.
Tickets are $12 at the door or $10 at Breaktime. You can also pickup tickets at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Sedalia, where buy one get one free tickets will be given out along the parade route on Ohio Street starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 16.
This year 92.3 BOB-FM will broadcast all the games with Doug Sokolowski, Kaleb Filis and Leigh Ann.
