Missouri lawmakers are considering a bill to raise the standard for workers to sue for discrimination and cap damages in those cases.

Attorney Jon Berns told The Associated Press that policy would mean limits on harassment and discrimination lawsuits that have plagued the troubled Department of Corrections.

Backers say the change is needed because it's now too easy to sue for discrimination in Missouri.
