63-year-old Calhoun man seriously injured in Johnson County Monday night

At 7:15 Monday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported an injury accident on Route “WW” in Johnson County. The accident occurred as the driver of a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser, 63-year-old Robert Hawkins of Calhoun, lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered road. The vehicle traveled off the roadway, struck a mailbox and overturned, coming to rest on its side. Hawkins suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported via Life Flight to St. Luke’s Hospital in downtown Kansas City for treatment.

Icy road results in a one-vehicle accident in Henry County Monday morning

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, just after 7 a.m. Monday, 24-year-old Nicole Jeanin of Kansas City, Mo. lost control of her 2000 Ford Pickup on an icy road, traveled off the roadway, striking a utility box and a tree. The report states the accident happened on Route “Z” two tenths of a mile west of Route BB in Henry County. Jeanin received minor injuries in the accident and was taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
