Pettis County accident reported on Florence Road Wednesday afternoon

At 3:15 Wednesday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported an accident on Florence Road 4-tenths of a mile South of Smithton Road in Pettis County. The accident reportedly occurred as the 2001 Suzuki driven by 79-year-old Patty Wagenknecht of Smithton crossed the center line of the gravel road and struck the 2005 Pontiac driven by 17-year-old Laurel McMillian of Otterville. Wagenknecht reportedly suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. Both vehicles received moderate damage in the crash.

Gardner Kansas woman injured in a Johnson County accident Wednesday night

A two-vehicle accident on US 50 Highway just East of Northwest 271 Road in Johnson County injured a Gardner City Kansas man, 33-year-old Ernesto Gutierrez, around 7:00 Wednesday night, when the 2011 Kia he was driving was struck in the rear by the 2012 Dodge driven by 28-year-old Anthony Vick of Warrensburg. Vick reportedly looked away from the road at an electronic device before the wreck. Gutierrez received moderate injuries and was transported to Research Hospital for treatment. The accident report states charges are pending.

Johnson County accident reported Saturday afternoon injures a 56-year-old Holden woman

Around 1:30 Saturday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle injury accident on US 50 Highway just east of 671 in Johnson County. The accident reportedly happened as both vehicles were Westbound and the 2009 Ford driven by 56-year-old Brenda Hilton of Holden slowed to turn into a gas station. The driver of a 2003 Ford, Janice McMillian of Belton, failed to notice the Hilton vehicle was slowing until the last moment. The accident report states McMillian steered left, lost control of her vehicle, overcorrected and steered to the right, striking the Hilton vehicle and causing it to travel off the roadway, coming to rest on its wheels. Hilton received moderate injuries and was taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment. An investigation continues according to the report.
