Moose Lodge 1494, located at 119 Winchester Drive, is sponsoring Trunk Or Treat Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m.,  and will also have Haunted Trailers on site from 5 to 10 p.m.

Volunteer, as well as past president of the Moose Lodge, and friend of the Keith and Amanda Balke family Mike Kearney said he was put in charge of the Lodge's annual Halloweeen Trunk or Treat event.

“I asked Keith and Amanda to help me out with it this year, and they went above & beyond, as they always do,” Kearney told KSIS.

The Balkes normally entertain friends, family and neighbors with an elaborate display at their house every Halloween. So this year, the event was moved to the parking lot of Moose Lodge 1494, 119 Winchester, in Sedalia.

“We asked them to come out and we have a bunch of members bring their own cars and decorate them. We have a contest for the best-decorated cars as well,” Kearney said, adding that Pettis County firefighters usually serve as judges for that contest.

“This is, I believe, our fifth year doing this, and it just keeps getting bigger and better every year,” he said. “The first year we did it, we had four or five people bring their cars out and give candy away .. and last year, we counted over 700 children come through.”

In addition to Pettis County Fire, the Pettis County Sheriff's Department, Sedalia Police, PCAD and Missouri State Highway Patrol will be represented at the event as well, Kearney noted.

The Trunk or Treat event starts at 5 p.m., and continues through 7.

The Haunted Trailers open at 5 p.m. and will remain open until 10 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, and there is no age limit.
