19-year-old man arrested for assault Friday morning

At 10:21 Friday morning Sedalia Police investigated an assault report in the 1500 block of west Main.  Upon arrival officers arrested the suspect identified as 19-year-old James Yount of Sedalia on assault charges. Yount was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.  He was also found to have a Sedalia Municipal warrant for failure to appear.

Investigation of a disturbance results in arrest for possession

Around 10:40 Friday morning Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of South Washington. During the investigation the officer observed drug paraphernalia in view while mediating an argument between a renter and a landlord. Arrested at the scene was 37-year-old Steven Ray Bartlett. He was transported to the Pettis county Jail pending charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.

43-year-old woman arrested on Morgan County warrants Friday night

At 8:17 Friday night Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 2400 block of West Main on a theft complaint. Upon arrival the caller told the officer some one stole her daughter’s sunglasses valued at between $150 to $200. The police report then states during the investigation the officer was informed that the person he was talking to had warrants out of Morgan County. Officers arrested 43-year-old Maria Rogers, and transported her to the Pettis County Jail pending a $500 bond.

Accident investigation results in arrest for a Warsaw man Saturday afternoon

Just before 3:30 Saturday afternoon Sedalia Police investigated an accident at 32nd and Limit. During the investigation one of the drivers identified as 40-year-old Russell Higgins of Warsaw was found to have warrants for failure to appear out of Benton County. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $100 bond.

Traffic stop Sunday morning results in arrest for an 18-year-old man

Around 9:20 Sunday morning Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of East Broadway. A subsequent check on the occupants revealed a passenger 18-year-old Michael Ayers of Sedalia had a failure to appear warrant out of Pettis County. At the time of the police report he was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $125 cash only bond.

Air Conditioner thefts reported Friday

Friday morning Sedalia Police took a report of the theft of an air conditioner valued at $1500 from a rental house in the 200 block of South Washington. The landlord believes the last tenant is the suspect in the case.

At 7:15 Friday morning a woman in the 1000 block of West 3rd reported two-window air conditioners valued at $400 were stolen from her yard. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.
