December is here, and that means Christmas is right around the corner. We have so many great organizations and benefits here in the local area to help underprivileged families enjoy the holidays. Justin Lawson has put together a great benefit and concert to provide families throughout Pettis County with Christmas dinner and presents for families in need.

The "Music Makes a Difference" Christmas benefit and concert will take place Saturday, Dec.14 at the American Legion Post 642 on West Main St. in Sedalia. The fun will start at 2 p.m. with games, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and great food. There will be great items to bid on that have been donated by local people and businesses in the area.

Starting at 5 p.m. will be a line-up of great local music. Six bands will perform throughout the night to keep the party rocking.

The line-up is as follows:

  • 5:00 p.m.- Rock Paper Scissors
  • 6:00 p.m.- 10 & Under
  • 7:00 p.m.- Every other Friday
  • 8:00 p.m.- Prometheus Fire-God
  • 9:00 p.m.- Unseen Hatred
  • 10:00 p.m.- Golgotha

This event is for the entire family, so bring everybody out. Check out their Facebook page to see all the bands, items up for auction and details on the event. Come out, have some fun and support the local community by spreading the Christmas cheer.
