Barbara Ellen Sanders, 71

Barbara Ellen Sanders, 71, of Otterville, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2013 at Tipton Manor Nursing Home. She was born on June 11, 1941 in Pettis County, a daughter of Joe and Esther (Schaumberg) Arnold.   On November 30, 1957 in Otterville, she was united in marriage to James H. Sanders, who survives of the home.

Barbara graduated as an LPN from State Fair Community College’s nursing program. She worked as a charge nurse at Four Seasons Nursing Home and as a cardiac nurse at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She sold Mary Kay for many years. She was a member of Otterville Presbyterian Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by six children, Jim Sanders of Blackwater, Keith (Linda “Cricket”) Sanders of Cole Camp, Kenneth (Sheila) Sanders of Syracuse, Brenda (Jeff) Tucker of Green Ridge, Linda (Robert) Lower of Otterville, and Cody Sanders of the home; fourteen grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two sisters; and four brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.   A family visitation and gathering of friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the State Fair Community College nursing program in care of funeral home.
