Vincent Michael Kowalewski, Jr. age 67 formerly of Sedalia died on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was born on August 8, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois son of Vincent Michael and Norma Kowalewski. He was born and raised in Chicago and attended Catholic school there.

He served in the Marine Corps for ten years during Vietnam. Vincent received the Silver Star, Bronze Star and 3 Purple Hearts. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 2591, American Legion Post 642 and Granite Lodge No. 272 AF & AM. He loved fishing, hunting and playing cards with his friends.

Vincent retired in 2004 as Chief Engineer for Fishing Company Of Alaska.

He is survived by his sister-in-law: Rebecca Erfurth and her husband Lee of Smithton, his former spouse: Sheila Colbert of Sedalia, four nieces: including Jade Erfurth of Smithton, two nephews, two former brother-in-laws. He was preceded by one brother: Stan Kowalewski, his parents and stepfather: Dud Petruzzi.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri with Allen Hawkins officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be American Legion Post 642 of Sedalia. Full military honors by V.F.W. Post 2591 of Sedalia. Friends may view and sign the guest book from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
