Opal M. Kelley age 97 of Sedalia passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia.

She was born on May 22, 1917 in Sedalia daughter of Richard and Mable Logan Byrd. On October 13, 1936 in Sedalia she married Maurice E. Kelley and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2010. Opal attended school in Sedalia.

She was a lifelong member of the Open Bible Church. She retired from Town & Country Shoe Factory and later from Heber Hunt School as a cook. She loved her church, family and especially the children.

She is survived by two sons; Norris Kelley (Peggy) of Sedalia, Fred Kelley (Ginger) of Warsaw, one daughter Anita Smith of Sedalia, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Chaplin Bill Douglas officiating. Friends may call after 11:00 A.M. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to a children's charity of the donor' choice.
