Phone Scam Reported to Sedalia Police

The Sedalia Police Department has received reports from several citizens who received calls from a person identified as "Agent Johnson with the Sedalia Police Department."

A report from SPD says the "Agent Johnson" scammer would then demand money from citizens over the phone.

Sedalia Police remind residents that department members will never solicit money over the phone.

If you have any suspicions about a call potentially being a scam, hang up and call the non-emergency number to verify if the caller is law enforcement, at 826-8100.
