Porter D. Curry, 82, of Sedalia, MO, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with William W. Harlow officiating.  There will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born June 29, 1932 in Longwood, he was the son of the late William Franklin Curry and Minnie M. Marcum Curry.  He was raised in rural Pettis County where he was a 1951 graduate of Houstonia High School.  On June 9, 1959, Porter married Sandra Harms who survives of the home.  He owned and operated Curry Upholstery in Gravois Mills, and lived many years in Sedalia.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the masonic lodge, a member of Ararat Shrine, and was a Presbyterian.

In addition to his wife, Sandy; he is survived by one son, Jeffrey Curry and wife Jennifer of Indianapolis, IN; one grandson, Trevor Curry; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jim Curry; one sister, Mary Lucille Vardiman; and a sister in infancy.
