Richard Rhodes, 73, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Four Seasons Living Center. He was born June 1, 1940, in Windsor, a son of the late Norman and Opal (Willis) Rhodes.

He was a 1959 graduate of Lincoln Hubbard High School. He served his country honorably in the US Navy from 1959-1963. Richard worked as a custodian at Four Seasons Living Center, Rest Haven and the Sedalia Elks Lodge. He was an active member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son, Richard D. Hammiel, of MN; two sisters, Rose Nolen, of Sedalia, and Phyllis Montgomery, of MN; three grandsons; his companion, Bertha Hamilton, of Sedalia; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Funeral service will be 11 am, Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Calvin Pritchard officiating. Visitation will be 10 am until service time. Graveside service will be at 2 pm at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
