Ruth Nadine Edwards, 97, of Sedalia, died Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born February 18, 1918 near Green Ridge, Mo, daughter of the late Emmett R. and Alice E. Hughes Brown. On June 6, 1936, in Sedalia, she was married to David F. Edwards who died December 11, 2000.

Mrs. Edwards was raised and educated in the Green Ridge and LaMonte area, graduating from LaMonte High School in 1936 as valedictorian of her class. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist church for over 67 years where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was a loving Mother and Grandmother to whom she conveyed her message of deep devotion. Her family meant everything to her and she loved spending time with them.

Survivors include: three children, David Russell Edwards (Patti), Spokane, WA, Janice Kay Deuschle, Leawood, KS, and Joyce Jean Schlobohm (David), of Lenexa, KS; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Johnson, Independence, MO, and Mary Williams, St. Louis, MO, and a brother, George Brown, Sedalia.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 30 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dr. Rick Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the chapel.
