Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins cruised to an easy victory over the Leeton Bulldogs 12-2 on Thursday as part of the Sacred Heart Invitational.

Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins notched six runs in the fifth inning. Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins's big bats in the inning were led by groundouts by Vladamir Lopez and Marcel Walton, a walk by Noah Damlo, and a single by Carter Rice.

Connor Rice was the winning pitcher for Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins. The right-hander surrendered two runs on six hits over five innings, striking out ten and walking one.

Julian Floyd started the game for the Leeton Bulldogs. Floyd went one and one-third innings, allowing three runs on three hits. Justin Floyd and Anthony Gutridge entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.

Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins racked up eight hits in the game. Gavin Caldwell, Rice, and Rice all managed multiple hits for Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins. Caldwell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins in hits. Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins didn't commit a single error in the field. Rice had the most chances in the field with ten.

Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Tanner Damlo led the way with two.

Dylan Shackelford led Bulldogs with two hits in three at bats.

The SH Invitational continues today and concludes Saturday, April 1.

The baseball Grems return to regular season action April 4 at home with Otterville.
