Security Guard Fatally Shoots Man in Kansas City

Authorities say a security guard has fatally shot a man in a Kansas City parking lot.

The guard told police that the shooting happened early Tuesday after a man approached him and pointed a gun. The man who was shot was dead when officers arrived. His name wasn't immediately released.

The release said the security guard wasn't hurt.

Police are urging anyone with information to call a tips hotline.
