The Sedalia 200 School Board met at the Sedalia Middle School Monday night for a Work session. During the work session there were presentations on a program called “All Pro Dads” a mentor program in some Sedalia Schools. The program features a monthly breakfast with mentors and students. Several 5th grade students wrote and read testimonials about the positive affects it has had on them. The program is expected to expand to other schools.

There was also a presentation from some community leaders on a program aimed at career development for Junior and senior students in the Sedalia 200 School District. The program is a 40 hour Internship Program at Sedalia businesses for students prior beginning a technical, associates or bachelor’s degree program.

Wade Norton Principle of Smith Cotton High School spoke to the board about an ACT Practice test designed to show the students how to take the test. According to the Superintendent of Sedalia Schools, Brad Pollitt they are not teaching the test, but rather the skills required taking the test.

The board than went into closed session.
