Around 12:30 Tuesday morning, Pettis County Sheriff's deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit after responding to the area of 36th Street and Petree Lane for a call of subjects trying to break into vehicles.

According to the report, when deputies arrived in the area, they located a vehicle matching the description of the one provided by the caller.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but it the suspects took off at a high rate of speed. The report indicates that Sedalia Police were called for assistance and after a lengthy pursuit, the suspect vehicle crashed in the area of 15th Street and S. New York Ave. The occupants then ran away on foot.

Law enforcement searched the area but the subjects were not located.

A report from the Sedalia Police Department says the vehicle was towed to a holding facility, and evidence was collected.

At this time the subjects are still at large and the investigation is ongoing. There were no further details listed in the report.
