Sedalia Police arrested a 25-year-old man following two reported incidents involving a paintball gun. Police were called to the 300 block of West 4th Street to investigate a reported assault on October 31. According to a police, a woman claimed that she had been shot in the neck with a paintball gun. Police also spoke with a man who said that his vehicle had been shot three times with a paintball gun. A suspect in the case, 25-year-old Lidarrin Grant of Sedalia, was located just after 5:30 p.m. on November 2 and was arrested. Grant was taken to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action, 3rd Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Property Damage.


Sedalia Police are investigating a reported case of child abuse. Wednesday, police were contacted by an officer with the Osceola Police Department and were informed that a child suffered bruises from his chin to his legs. The reporting party said that the bruises were not on the child before he had spent time with a suspect, who was not named by police, in the city limits of Sedalia.


Sedalia Police were called yesterday to the Academy of Salon Professionals to investigate a burglary. The burglary reportedly happened between 5:30 p.m. on November 5 and 7:30 a.m. on November 7. A cash register and $300 cash were reportedly stolen, and the front door and a sign on the door were destroyed. The combined estimated value of the stolen and destroyed property was around $1900.


Police were called to the 1600 block of South Ingram Avenue on Monday in reference to a runaway juvenile. Police say the juvenile got into an argument with his mother, then walked away from the house and was supposed to be going to work. The mother confirmed that he was not at work. The juvenile was located and returned to his mother's care. The case was referred to the Juvenile Office.


On November 7, 2016, Pettis County Sheriff's Deputies took a report of a parental kidnapping and violation of a full order of protection in the 200 block of Carlene Drive in Sedalia.


Pettis County Sheriff's Deputies took a report of theft of a motor vehicle on November 7 from the area of Route H in Georgetown. The vehicle was located. Deputies have no leads or suspects at this time.


Three firearms were reported stolen from a residence on Highway T to Pettis County Deputies on November 7. The residence was reportedly broken into sometime overnight on Saturday. An AR-15 rifle and two Ruger pistols, one being a semiautomatic and the other a revolver, were reported stolen. There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.


On Monday, November 7, a Hughesville resident reported to Pettis County Deputies that someone had stolen a deer stand.
