The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's crime reports are from the morning of Friday, January 23, 2015.

Sedalia Police went to the 1400 Block of South Quincy last night (Jan. 23) on a report of a subject that refused to pay his cabfare to an employee of Exstreme Taxi. The suspect, Daniel Balke, reportedly hit the cab driver in the face and attempted to take her cell phone. The suspect left the vehicle and was found in the same block by Sedalia Police. Sedalia Police arrested 58-year-old Daniel Balke for robbery in the 2nd degree.

Sedalia Police received a traffic complaint that someone was driving in the area of West Broadway and South Grand with a small child unrestrained. Sedalia Police found the vehicle in the area of Broadway and Garfield. Sedalia Police saw the child go from the front seat to the back. The vehicle was stopped by Sedalia Police and the unnamed driver was found to be driving without a license and was also cited for having an unrestrained child.
An employee of Menards reported to Sedalia Police that somebody forged a check of $522.43 in October of 2014.

A woman in the 2000 Block of South Ohio reported to Sedalia Police that somebody stole her XBOX 360, valued at $100 on Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 21).

An employee of Breaktime, at 318 West Broadway, reported to Sedalia Police that someone stole a Snickers candy bar and fled the store when they were confronted by the employee.

A woman reported to Sedalia Police that she ordered an online item and it was delivered to her previous address and given to somebody else. The item is considered stolen.

Sedalia Police issued a municipal summons to Sarah Bell for damaging non-city property after scratching the car with a car key.

Sedalia Police issued a municipal summons to Angela Kempf for property damage after she threw a large piece of concrete through the back window of a vehicle.
