Pettis County Deputies Respond To Fire

Pettis County Deputies and the Fire Department responded to a suspicious barn fire in the 20000 Block of Morgan Road, yesterday afternoon (Aug. 27). The case is being investigated as a possible arson case.

A Man Reports to Sedalia Police A Scam

A man reported to Sedalia Police that he was the victim of a scam. The man received a call from a company called State Wide Mediations that claimed he had an outsanding debt and needed to make payment or risk prosecution. The man agreed to pay $150 and later found out there was no such company called State Wide Mediations and he tried calling them back and the phone was disconnected.

Theft and Property Damage Reported

A man in the 2100 Block of East 16th reported to Sedalia Police that someone damaged windows in two of his vehicles, causing $500 in damages on Aug. 26.

A man in the 400 Block of East Boonville, reported to Sedalia Police that a bicycle, valued at $250, was stolen from his yard, between 9:30 and 9:40 last night (Aug. 27). A witness advised Sedalia Police that some juvenile suspects left westbound on Boonville, with the bike.

Sedalia Police received a reported case of domestic assault in the 1400 Block of West 5th.

Sedalia Police Make Two Arrests

Sedalia Police arrested Andrew Byrd for failure to appear-felony, bond set at $10,000 surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Brendan Van Winkle for failure to appear, bond set at $150.
