Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Grand Ave. at 11:45 p.m. on February 7 in reference to a burglary. Residents told police that they had left their home to visit family around noon, and when they returned at 11:40 p.m., they found a 60" flat screen television was missing, along with a cell phone. The residents also discovered broken glass near a patio door and a busted lock on a back door. Police have no suspects at this time.


Sedalia Police responded to the 1000 block of S. Ohio at 9:27 a.m. on February 7 after receiving a report of a suspicious person sleeping in an apartment stairway with drug paraphernalia around him. Police report finding marijuana, a glass pipe and two syringes in plain view near the suspect, who was still sleeping when officers arrived. 40-year-old Timothy L. Davis was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


Sedalia Police were called to Kohl's department store just after 3 p.m. on February 7 to investigate a shoplifting complaint. According to police, three suspects were located and stolen clothing was returned to the store. 20-year-old Jamika L. Yount, 19-year-old Marri S. Buckner, and 19-year-old Ashleigh A. Hooker were all issued court summonses for stealing.


The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office says that a 17-year-old was arrested on February 7 after causing a disturbance at Smith-Cotton High School. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the school resource officer responded to the disturbance near the front entrance of the school. The suspect, identified as Cynthia L. Harding, reportedly refused to leave the campus.Harding was arrested on charges of first degree trespassing and peace disturbance. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


Two Sedalia women were arrested on February 7 after authorities received an anonymous tip regarding drug activity in the 700 block of McVey Road. The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office and detectives with the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force reported detecting the odor of narcotics when contacting the occupants of the residence. After conducting a search, authorities reported finding approximately 20 grams of marijuana, digital scales, drug packaging material and methamphetamine paraphernalia. Three children under the age of six were in the residence, according to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office. 26-year-old Brittany Nicole Keith and 29-year-old Sasha Marie Davenport were arrested on multiple drug-related charges and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


On February 6 at 11:22 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to Kohl's regarding a theft. A suspect, 28-year-old Tiffany L. Kizzire, was arrested for stealing a pair of pants valued at $36. The suspect's court date is 4/12/2017.


On February 4 at 8:30 p.m., an officer working at Wood's Supermarket observed a suspect shoplifting alcohol. The officer attempted to stop the suspect, who ran away from the store. On February 7, the suspect was brought to the Sedalia Police Station by a family member for an interview. 37-year-old Jason L. Kreisel was identified as the suspect from the Wood's case and was arrested for stealing and resisting arrest.
