Here is your Sedalia Police Crime Report for the afternoon of July 3, 2012.

Sexual assault investigated on Ruth Ann Drive early this morning

Just after midnight this morning, Sedalia police contacted a victim in the Bothwell Hospital Emergency Room and began an investigation on a sexual assault that reportedly took place sometime between 8 o'clock and 11:55 Monday night in the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive. The police report states the crime scene was identified and evidence has been collected. An investigation is now underway.

 

Sedalia woman arrested for failure to appear during an investigation of unattended children

Around 9 o'clock Monday night, Sedalia police responded to a residence in the 1900 block of West 10th on a call about unattended children. Upon arrival officers found the children were unharmed. A subsequent check on the mother, identified as 28-year-old Valerie Peterman, revealed she had a failure to appear warrant. Peterman was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. The police report states she will be held for 30 days for failure to serve jail time and will have a bond of $88.50 for a driving while suspended charge.

 

Two-People arrested Friday on parole violation warrants at the Liberty Park Pool

Friday afternoon Sedalia police conducted a warrant check at the Liberty Park Pool. Upon contact with the suspect, 19-year-old Michael Burgess of Sedalia, dispatch confirmed a warrant for a parole violation. At the time of the police report, Burgess was being held in the Pettis County Jail without bond as a parole absconder. Officers also located 21-year-old Reyne Bachtel of Sedalia swimming at the pool. Bachtel was found to have a probation violation warrant out of Miller County, and is being held without bond on that warrant. Bachtel also had warrants out of Cole County and Pettis County with bonds totaling $6000.

 

21-year-old Sedalia man arrested Saturday afternoon on a probation violation

At 2:25 Saturday afternoon, Sedalia police conducted a warrant check in the 800 block of West 5th. Upon contact with the suspect, 21-year-old Jared Sanders of Sedalia, he was found to have an active Jackson County Warrant for a probation violation. At the time of the police report Sanders was being held pending $4900 bond.

 

Sedalia woman arrested Saturday on drug related charges and stealing

On Saturday, Sedalia police were dispatched to the 2000 block of South Quincy on a reported theft of prescription pills. The police report states an investigation produced a suspect identified as 27-year-old Ashley Burks of Sedalia. Burks was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail, where she was placed on 24-hour hold pending charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and stealing.

 

Hughesville man arrested Monday afternoon for possession of drugs, and failure to appear

At 1:31 Monday afternoon, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle with a driver, identified as 47-year-old Timothy Busker who had an active failure to appear warrant. A subsequent search of the vehicle produced methamphetamine. The police report states Busker was arrested, transported to the Pettis County jail and placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of possession, and a $500 bond on the Pettis County Warrant.

 

55-year-old Sedalia man faces drug related charges

At 10:34 Sunday morning, Sedalia police arrested 55-year-old Marcella Butler of Sedalia. The police report states charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia are being sought on Butler. Bond on the charges totaled $1063.

 

Pit Bull puppy reported stolen Sunday afternoon

Sunday afternoon, a female victim reported her Pit Bull puppy valued at $100 was stolen from her back yard. The puppy was on a chain at the time of the theft. There were no suspects at news time.
