The following Sedalia Police crime reports are from the afternoon of April 10, 2013.

76-year-old Sedalia man arrested on warrants Saturday night

Just after 10:00 Saturday night, Sedalia police conducted a warrant check at a residence in the 500 block of North Prospect. Upon arrival, officers made contact with 76-year-old Robert Whiteman of the residence who reportedly had two active warrants. Whiteman was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $2500 bond on a Pettis County Warrant for passing bad checks and a $150 cash only bond on a Sedalia warrant for expired registration.

Jefferson City man arrested for stealing Tuesday night

Around 7:00 Tuesday night, Sedalia police were dispatched to Wood’s on a stealing complaint. According to loss prevention personnel, they had observed the suspect place items in a Dollar General bag after scanning them through the self-service checkout line. Loss prevention followed the suspect out of the store and questioned him about the contents of the bag. Upon the arrival of Sedalia Police Officers, the suspect, 43-year-old Mark Kerr of Jefferson City reportedly admitted stealing items from the Dollar General. At the time of the police report, Kerr was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $533.50 bond.

Burglary complaint investigated in the 600 block of West 4th Tuesday night

At 11:16 Tuesday night, Sedalia police investigated a burglary complaint at a residence in the 600 block of West 4th. According to the victim he noticed a window on the South side of his residence was open when he returned home around 11:00 that night. The victim told officers the lock had been broken on the window, but there was nothing missing from the home. There were no suspects at news time.
