Warrant check results in arrest for a 25-year-old Sedalia woman

At 2:39 Friday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to a residence in the 500 block of South Grand on a subject with warrants. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Elizabeth Walters of the residence. Following confirmation of the warrants, officers arrested Walters and transported her to the Pettis County jail pending a $75,000 bond on a Pettis County Warrant and $4500 on a Johnson County Warrant.

Man arrested Friday afternoon on a tampering with vehicles charge

Around 4:30 Friday afternoon, Sedalia police responded to the Walmart store’s parking lot on a call concerning a suspect tampering with vehicle on the lot. While en-route, the officers were informed that the suspect had moved to the JCPenny’s parking lot where he was attempting to enter a vehicle. The officers reportedly located the suspect and arrested him. The suspect, 28-year-old Stephen Wilson, was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of tampering with vehicles.

Sedalia woman in jail on a charge stealing from Walmart

At 9:00 Friday night, Sedalia police arrested 29-year-old Jennifer Gasson of Sedalia on a charge of stealing from the Walmart store. At the time of the police report, Gasson was in the Pettis County Jail pending a bond of $533.50.

Driver with a failure to appear warrant arrested Saturday afternoon during a traffic stop

Just before 2:00 Saturday afternoon, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 9th and Engineer with a driver known to have a failure to appear warrant on a drug related charge. The police report states the driver, 28-year-old Troy Wright, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $441.50 cash only bond on the warrant.

Suspended driver booked and released with a court date Saturday

Around 1:00 Saturday afternoon, Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 32nd and Grand with a driver known to be suspended. Arrested at the scene was 27-year-old Blake Jones of Sedalia. Jones was taken to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released with a court date.

Otten’s Small engines reports a burglary Friday morning

At 10:00 Friday morning, a complainant at Otten’s Small Engines at 2617 East Broadway reported a burglary to the Sedalia police. According to the complainant, someone entered one of their storage buildings sometime overnight. There was no information on anything missing from the building and there were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Thefts reported in Sedalia under investigation

A woman in the 1800 block of South Park reported her home was entered and a television stolen Friday morning. There is a possible suspect in the case.

Plaza 16 at 120 East 16th reported a man entered the store took a bottle of alcohol valued at $5.29 and left the store without paying.
