Sedalia Police were dispatched just after midnight on January 18 to investigate a burglary in the 1000 block of S. State Fair Blvd. Two residents told police that between 3:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. on January 17, someone entered their home and stole two Xbox One gaming consoles and two Xbox controllers. Police have no suspects at this time.


On January 16, police responded to the 3100 block of Brianna Blvd. for a reported theft. Police were told that a woman had left her spare key insider her 2016 Ford Escape and left the vehicle unlocked. The victim said that when she came back to the vehicle, it had been moved to another area of the parking lot. The spare key and a pack of cigarettes was reported missing. Police have no suspects.


Sedalia Police were called to the 200 block of S. Missouri Ave. at 1:41 p.m. on January 16 to take a theft report. A man told police he believed someone had picked his pocked and stolen his wallet while at Walmart the previous day. On January 16, the victim had activity on his debit card at a local convenience store. Police went to the convenience store to obtain video and other evidence from the scene.


Police were called to Walgreen's in Sedalia at 10:30 a.m. on December 14 to investigate a reported theft. A woman told police that while she was shopping in the store, she set her purse down and accidentally left if in an aisle. It was found a short time later, but items were missing. A suspect was identified through surveillance video. Some of the property was returned to the victim, but other items had been disposed of and weren't able to be recovered. The victim initially did not want to pursue charges against the suspect, but later decided that she did. Charges of stealing are being requested against the suspect, who was not identified.
