Sedalia Police reports 5-21-19

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near 3rd and Limit on a black car traveling north doing 77 mph in a 40 mph zone at 10:24 p.m. Friday, May 17. The driver, 20-year-old Johnathon S. Griffin was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on a speeding charge. Griffin now has a June 19 court date.


 

Osage Pawn and Gun, 116 W. Main, reported that a male suspect stole a gun from the business on May 17 around 3 p.m. The suspect, 81-year-old Carmen L. Henke was arrested a short time later, and he was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released. The weapon was recovered and returned to the pawn shop.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 1000 block of E. Broadway and arrested 42-year-old Crystal Gayle Johnson on four Municipal warrants on May 17 around 7:20 p.m.


 

On Friday around 9 a.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a maroon Pontiac with an expired temp tag at 7th and Missouri. According to a report, the driver was wanted on a Cook County, Illinois felony warrant. Once informed of the situation by the officer, the suspect jumped across the hood of his car and ran from the officer. He was not apprehended. Charges of resisting arrest and traffic violations are being sought.


 

Ballard's Insulation, 3815 South Limit, reported the theft of about $800 of tools from a company truck on May 17. According to a report, the theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. May 15 and 9 a.m. May 16. Taken were a Dewalt saw, a hammer drill, a siding stapler and miscellaneous items.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a beige Ford truck at 8:16 p.m. Sunday night at 17th and Moniteau. Arrested was the driver, 31-year-old Timothy R. Barrett on a Benton County warrant. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $200 cash or surety bond. Also arrested was 32-year-old Renea Elizabeth Boone of Sedalia. The SPD's K-9 unit was deployed and alerted to narcotics. Boone was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. She was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Boone was also wanted for a probation violation out of Pettis County with no bond.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Grand and Morgan at 2:36 a.m. Monday and discovered two men fighting in the middle of the street. Upon officers arrival, the two took off running. One escaped, while the other, 18-year-old Daylon Parish, was apprehended on North Prospect and taken to the Pettis County Jail. He is charged with resisting arrest and public peace disturbance. He now has a June 19 court date.


 

ABC Advertising, 400 S. Osage, reported on May 17 that someone forged a company check five times, resulting in a total loss of $4,763.05.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle check at 5th and Summit on May 16 around 1 p.m. A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Don Charlie Soriano Palmerin, was wanted on a Municipal warrant. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $60 warrant.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 35-year-old Tiah Marie Hatcher in the 400 block of E. Boonville on May 17 around 7:45 p.m. Hatcher was wanted on a Municipal warrant for a marijuana offense. Her bond was $120. She now has a June 5 court date.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a silver Dodge at 12 a.m. May 18 at 5th and Moniteau. The driver, 30-year-old Eutiguio Ramos-Santos, was found to be driving with no operator's license. He was also wanted on a Pettis County warrant for a traffic offense. He was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $1,500 cash or surety bond, booked and released.


 

Sedalia Police contacted 38-year-old Anthony Robert Hill near Broadway and Ohio at 4:31 a.m. May 15. Hill was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.


 

Sedalia Police responded to a verbal and physical disturbance in the 1500 block of E. 4th on May 15 around 2:30 p.m. Investigation revealed that the victim was hit in the head twice, then he hit her in the face. Police documented a 12-hour log of the incident.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at 16th and Osage May 16 just around 3 p.m. on a maroon Grand Am bearing plates that checked to a truck. The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Amy L. Hilton, was found to be driving while suspended. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released. She now has a June 19 court date. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle was wanted for pick up out of Johnson County.


 

Gary Dale Spradley, 39, was arrested for trespassing at WalMart, 3201 W. Broadway, around 7 p.m. May 16. Spradley was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an improper stop at 120 E. 6th at 4:17 a.m. May 16. The driver, 17-year-old Isaiah B. McNeil, was found to be driving while suspended. McNeil was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.


 

On May 17 at 12:11 a.m. at 13th and Kentucky, Sedalia Police responded to a call about a weapon being shot from a vehicle. During an investigation, a suspect was arrested. 36-year-old Anthony Buck Johnson of Sedalia was charged with armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and 4th degree assault. Johnson was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police took a theft report at Eagles Stop, 3415 E. Broadway, where a man reported his wallet was stolen May 15.
