Sedalia Police reports 10-12-16

Sedalia Police arrested Westley Ernest Kabler, 45, Sedalia, at Dollar General, 713 E. Broadway, around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday on two warrants. His bond was set at $40,000. He has a court date of Oct. 25.

Kennon L. Charles, 33, Sedalia, was arrested for 3rd Degree Domestic Assault after police responded to the 400 block of N. Quincy on a disturbance call just after 4 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, a male and female living together were arguing and pushing each other. The female had a black eye and accused her boyfriend of causing it. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Melanie Lynn Swenson, 31, Sedalia, was also arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on a Pettis County warrant for property damage. Her bond was set at $3,500.

Aaron Jason Brown, 33, Green Ridge, was arrested for Failure to Appear-Felony and Failure to Appear-Misdemeanor after a traffic stop at 10th and Ingram. His bond was set at $5,000, cash or surety.

Cody Ryan McDaniel, 23, was arrested after being seen operating a motorcycle that was reported stolen on Monday just before 8 p.m. According to the report, the caller approached the suspect near the Katy Depot, 600 E. Third, and said he would be contacting the police. The suspect then sped away. Both the motorcycle and the suspect were later located. McDaniel was transported to the Pettis County Jail for a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of state charges. He was charged with 1st Degree Tampering With a Motor Vehicle, Receiving Stolen Property of $150 or more, 1st Degree Property Damage and Tampering with Physical Evidence-Felony.

Heath A. Thalgott, 18, Marshall, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Dangerous Non-Narcotic Drugs after an officer questioned the occupants of a Ford SUV that was illegally parked near 11th and Osage. Thalgott was transported to the Pettis County Jail. His bond and a court date are to be determined.

Calvin W. Comfort, 26, homeless, was arrested after the vehicle he was in allegedly crossed the center line and made an improper stop at a stop sign. He was a passenger in the vehicle. Comfort was wanted on two Pettis County warrants. He has a court date of Oct. 25 and bond was set at $400 cash.

Glyness D. Williams, 45, Columbia, was arrested Tuesday after Sedalia Police responded to a report of a person yelling at passersby behind Break Time, 318 W. Broadway. Williams was found to be highly intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed into protective custody.

Scott Dean Woolery was arrested for filing a false statement after Sedalia Police responded to an assault report at Bothwell Regional Health Center ER, 601 E. 13th, on Monday just before midnight. Investigation revealed the report was false, and Woolery was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released. A court date is to be determined.

West Mo Auto reported the theft of a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, valued at $2800, overnight between 5 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday. The report was taken at 3108 Erika Ave. There are no suspects in the case.

Police took a theft report of a 30-inch Emerson flat-screen TV which was stolen overnight Tuesday in the 200 block of S. Missouri. There is a suspect in the case.

Police took a theft report of a security camera, valued at $250, from the 200 block of S. Missouri, on Tuesday. According to the report, the theft occurred around 7:30 a.m. There are no suspects.

Dollar General, 619 N. Ohio, reported the theft of several items valued at $27.70, from the store on Tuesday just after 9 a.m. There are no suspects.

Police took a property damage report in the 1200 block of E. 14th on Tuesday. A vehicle was keyed while parked in the backyard, causing $1,800 of damage, the report said. There are no suspects.

Police took a hit-and-run report on Tuesday. The victim's car was sideswiped while parked on Kentucky near 5th Street. Video surveillance is being review to determine a suspect.

Police took a hit-and-run report Oct. 5 for an accident that occurred on the Smith-Cotton High School parking lot on Sept. 28. School administrators and Sedalia Police are working to identify a suspect.
