The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's crime reports are from the morning of Tuesday, September 23, 2014.
Accident at Broadway and Harrison
Sedalia Police responded to an accident at Broadway and Harrison yesterday morning (Sept. 22). Sedalia Police made contact with the drivers and one became combative. The suspect driver, 34-year-old Alicia Ulmer, showed several signs of impairment and was restrained. Sedalia Police found that Ulmer had run off the roadway near Broadway and Grand, which prompted the other driver to stop and check on Ulmer. Ulmer than accelerated and attempted to strike the victim and hit the car. Ulmer's vehicle again accelerated and collided with the stop sign at Broadway and Harrison, overturning the vehicle. An unrestrained child in the passenger seat sustained injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center and so was Ulmer. Ulmer was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated-prior offender; assault in the 1st degree; endangering the welfare of a child-1st degree; assault in the 2nd; careless driving and no proof of insurance.
Several Thefts Reported
An employee of Ag Power, at 2205 S. Limit, reported to Sedalia Police that two John Deer Gators were stolen yesterday (Sept. 22).
An employee of Casey's at 3050 S. Limit reported to Sedalia Police that there was a $103.61 diesel gas drive off.
A woman in the 800 Block of West 16th reported to Sedalia Police that someone shoved a front door open, broke the door jam and then left the scene, between 9 and 10:30 last night (Sept. 22).
A man in the 300 Block of East Saline reported to Sedalia Police that his Medicare card and 3rd National Bank card was lost or stolen.
Three Arrests Made
Sedalia Police arrested Page Hawley for failure to appear out of Pettis County, Sedalia and Morgan County, bond set at $5,400.
Sedalia Police arrested Courtney Bunch for failure to appear, bond set at $500.
Sedalia Police arrested Farris Higginbotham for having a warrant out of Troop A in Lee's Summit.
